De Smart Floor is a floor containing a sensor foil with as many as 50 antennas per m². These antennas are passive and therefore do not require power. When someone walks over the Smart Floor As the foot is walked, these passive antennas connect to the active sensor worn around the ankle. This connection makes it possible to accurately determine a person's foot positions. This data forms the basis for analyzing the gait pattern, based on which an assessment of the fall risk is made.

De Smart Floor has 2 variants

The mobile floor is lightweight (7 kg), can be easily rolled up, and can be easily moved between locations. This allows the floor to be deployed flexibly within the municipal domain for various events and activities.

The fixed floor is installed by mounting the sensor foil under the existing or new build floor. The floor can have any desired dimensions, with a minimum of 6 meters long and 1 meter wide.

Measure

A person walks up and down the 6-meter long twice at a comfortable pace. Smart FloorFor the measurement, only a sensor needs to be attached to the ankle, and no other special equipment is required. The measurement can be performed using a person's usual walking aid.
Various gait parameters are derived from the measured foot positions, such as walking speed, step size, step frequency, and the Gait Stability Ratio. This provides a clear picture of the gait pattern.

Analyze

The measured gait pattern is analyzed by an AI algorithm, developed through years of research.

Rash 

The outcome of the analysis is translated into a clear and easy-to-interpret fall risk score that is visible immediately after walking. The fall risk score ranges from 0 to 10 and falls within one of the categories: low, increased, and high fall risk.
